| Give me a C, I really don't care. |
[Nov. 9th, 2009|04:02 pm] |
I have a Listening Behavior exam in an hour.
It was supposed to be last week, but the professor forgot/misplaced the exam and postponed it.
I didn't really study for it last week... and I don't have any intention or inclination to study for it this week. Sorry, Listening Behavior, it's not me... it's you. |

Caroline's Saturday Night:
It started by reading 500 pages for English (at least it was a pretty easy read...).
Now I'm watching BBC's Little Dorrit and attempting to get WAY ahead on homework so I never feel the way I felt this week again.
It's okay to say that your jealous. I understand why. |

| Schwimmer! |
[Nov. 7th, 2009|10:22 am] |
David Schwimmer is living in the apartment above my coffee shop, so I serve him coffee a lot. I've been given explicit instructions to "treat him like a normal customer," but part of me wants to be kind of a jerk and say things like,
"Is this coffee better than Central Perk?"
"Sorry, Gunther isn't working today..."
"How's Rachel?"
"Remember that time you were on 30 Rock? That must have been huge for you!"
Others...? |

[Nov. 5th, 2009|01:49 pm] |
Let's just get one thing straight.
I am WAY too old to be pulling all-nighters. It seriously messes me up in a horrible way.
Even in college it wasn't much a good idea... but I was always a "get it done tonight" kind of gal (as opposed to "I'll wake up early and do it in the morning"). I can't sleep with the knowledge that I NEED to get something done first thing in the morning (that's why I shower at night).
Regardless, I had this crazy project due today (and yes, I did have an EXAM in the same class on Tuesday). I was going to get a whole bunch of it done early... and then I didn't. And then I was going to work on it maybe a week or so before it was due... and then I couldn't. Between Haunted Trail, a myriad of midterms, and papers, papers, papers, I was left with no time for myself. And I got to fill that no time with rehearsals. Lots of them.
I'm not complaining about being busy. I actually like it. I just... am grumpy because I didn't really sleep. And now Joey (the dog) is snoring next to me ("Look what I get to do! Sleep! Do bad you can't cause you've got crap to do!"). Jerk.
Anyway, happy Guy Fawkes Day. Or happy flux capacitor day (the Enchantment Under The Sea dance is coming up). Or happy Thursday. Whatever it is you are celebrating. (How's that for a non sequitur?) |

Let's make a list and cross things off.

| Someone amuse me. |
[Nov. 4th, 2009|11:24 am] |
So... I really should be working or something. I still have lots to do... but instead I'm outlining my Nano novel and listening to A Very Potter Musical. And hanging out on Facebook.
Work is so lame! Who wants to do that?
One a side note, I think that I am gonna rake this afternoon. Not quite magical, but being outside with the puppies will be good. |

I hate it when the world does something to disappoint me...
EDIT: But I love it when the world provides comedy in the form of a police officer pulling over a bicycle for running a stop sign. That. Was. Awesome. |

| Linguistics for Moochers |
[Oct. 27th, 2009|06:02 pm] |
So... at this point I've gotten a little fed up with the people in my 200 person Linguistics lecture sending out e-mails that say, "WHAAAA! I missed class on this day. Can someone send me the notes? WHAAAA!" I mean, there might be some slight variations, but that's the gist of it.
Then... someone sent out this:
Hey everyone,
Hate to be a nag, but would it be possible for someone to send me the notes from the past 21 classes? I've been absent literally the entire semester, there was a diplomatic situation in Belgium that required my immediate attention and have no idea where we are in the curriculum. Hows the class going? Everyone pretty comfortable with the material? Oh, almost forgot, if someone has a copy of the syllabus and the first exam I'm pretty sure you've already taken those would both be AMAZINGLY useful.
One more thing, if someone else could make a point of it to keep sending me notes for the rest of the semester as I am not sure when I'll be back to class or even the States for that matter, the whole Treaty of Lisbon situation with the European Union really has my schedule booked up.
Hah, I know its been a crazy semester for everyone, right?
Thanks for the help guys,
Jonathan
ps, I get spotty internet over here so please mail me the notes instead of email, my address is:
Jonathan Schaffer Embassy of the United States of America Regentlaan 27 Boulevard du Régent, B-1000 Brussels Phone: (32-2) 508-2111 Fax: (32-2) 511-2725
I'm assuming it's a wonderful joke. But at the same time, I fell like it wouldn't shock me if it was real. It can't be real, right?
Stupid moochers. |

| Stop. Just stop. |
[Oct. 26th, 2009|03:41 pm] |
So, I was gonna make a post about Where The Wild Things Are, but I feel that I need to say this first (I'll make that other post a little later).
World, stop freaking out about Facebook.
It's different. I get it. You aren't used to it. You will be in, like, a day. Just calm down.
Remember a few months ago when our walls changed and we all cried? You don't!? That's right... you don't even remember. Now the new Facebook is the old Facebook and we're crying about it. So... calm down. Facebook changes, like, all the time. That's its natural state. |

| Boo. |
[Oct. 25th, 2009|08:56 pm] |
I'm writing a stupid paper for my Listening class.
1 page down 2 pages down! 5 pages down!!!!
Also there are a bunch of bees in my room. I don't know why. I only know that it sucks. |

[Oct. 21st, 2009|06:48 pm] |
Apparently they are singing "Sweet Caroline" on Glee tonight. You know who's name is Caroline? Mine! MINE!
AAAAAAAAAAAND... it's Restaurant Wars on Top Chef.
What a good night. |

| Productivity |
[Oct. 21st, 2009|11:29 am] |
I'm sitting in the library between classes.
I had planned to work on something (who knows what, but I'm sure there's something I could be doing.
Instead...
[+] I've been pondering NaNo and what kind of crazy novel I want to write.
[+] I've been attempting to come up with Hamlet-themed Ben and Jerry's ice cream flavors (The Praline's The Thing). You should think of some too.
[+] I've been reading Shivers Creek.
[+] I've been checking FB.
[+] I've been wandering around outside because it's SO NICE (I don't think I even need a coat).
[+] I've been contemplating how growing kind of sucks because of all the shots and skin tests I have to get.
[+] I've been drawing on my hands, just like I used to do when I was bored in high school. Wacky. |

| NaNoWriMo |
[Oct. 20th, 2009|11:47 pm] |
So... I'm thinking about trying out some NaNo this November... just cause, you know, it's fun.
BUT! I'm kind of busy.
Thoughts? Is anyone else doing it this year? |

| Gleek (continued)? |
[Oct. 19th, 2009|09:41 pm] |
Whoa.
Joss is going to direct an episode of Glee.
"Whom will I kill? When will that go away? Is death really the only thing I'm known for? I'd hope not. You know how many people in the world actually die? ALL OF THEM. You know how many I've killed? Statistically, somewhat fewer. Can't we focus on another element of my work? Having said that, probably Principal Figgins. (No! I kid! God.)"
Whoa! |

| Results are in... |
[Oct. 16th, 2009|11:27 am] |
So, for those who wanted a follow up with regards to Guys and Dolls...
I'm in the Mission Choir (saving some souls with alto harmonies) and Ensemble/Dancer. Yes, you read that right. I'll be dancing (but not in any of the hotbox numbers, thank goodness!).
So... that's show #3.
Fortunately, rehearsal don't start until after Haunted Trail, so I shouldn't want to kill myself too too much. :) |

|
| Gleek? |
[Oct. 12th, 2009|11:31 pm] |
So... I've been watching Glee and here's what I want to say.
I'm glad it's being made. I mean - I'm just glad that something like that is on TV. And popular too! More singing and dancing and fun!
But.
I kind of would like the plot and character development to be there. You know... just for fun.
Basically, I feel like I should like it more than I actually do... |
